This week I bring you another favorite of mine, a deeper side of my House. Mixed in 2003 on my then newly acquired Bozak mixer, Smooth Session has been dubbed by many as a “treacherous mix”. Why treacherous? I’ve been told that listening to this mix on a late summer afternoon can potentially turn plans for a quiet evening watching movies into a full night out extending well into the morning hours… Consider yourselves warned!
Best served rather loud, on a patio, accompanied by good friends and a few cold ones, you can get your copy of Smooth Session from the downloads page.
Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of requests to bring some of my older mixes back (remember, back then we called them CDs). At the top of the request list is probably the most popular of them all: Witches.
This was mixed back in 2001 as a tribute to all the special women in my life and on my dancefloor, a tribute to their mysterious, intriguing, sensual and powerful feminine nature, which a lot of times is nothing short of magic. It quickly became a favorite of my female audience as well as anyone else who simply loved the sultry beats that compose that mix. I’m happy to bring back this mix which, to many of us, is a definite classic.
You can get it from the downloads section. Enjoy!
Feel free to visit our downloads page and get my mixes. That page will be updated with new entries periodically. Hope you enjoy!
Montreal’s own Ian Key will warm things up and Italian duo superstars The Cube Guys will be headlining with their futuristic tribal sound. I am stoked to share the bill with these great artists and am preparing a set that will be certainly live up to Montreal’s closing DJ tradition. Better start shining those dancing shoes!
I should also mention: that night will mark the return of Hooked & Shine to the Montreal dancefloor. Those who know, know!
This promises to be one crazy event! See you there!
